Applicant FAQs


Do you accept international students?

The school is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.

When are seat deposits due and how much are they?

The seat deposit is $500 and may be split into two payments. The first $200 is due by April 1, and the remaining $300 is due by June 1.

When do you begin accepting applications?

September 1. ASL admits students on a rolling basis.

What does 'rolling' admissions mean?

ASL invites applications, conducts reviews, and renders decisions throughout the academic year for the following fall. It is recommended that students complete all components of the application no later than July in order to ensure all arrangements are in place prior to orientation.

What is your minimum LSAT requirement to apply?

Appalachian School of Law conducts a holistic review of each applicant.

If I have multiple LSAT scores, which score will be considered?

The highest LSAT score will be considered as long as it has not expired.

Do I need to have a certain major to apply?

We invite all majors to apply.

When should I take the LSAT?

We recommend taking the LSAT in September or December prior to the application year; however, LSAT scores from later test administration dates may be considered. Contact the admissions office for more information.

Do you conduct interviews?

We do not conduct formal interviews that affect admissions decisions, but we welcome you to visit ASL and talk with our admissions staff.

Where can I find housing information?

The Office of Admissions maintains a list of available housing in Grundy and the surrounding area. Please contact your Admissions Counselor for assistance or more information.

What kind of financial aid do you offer?

Every application is automatically reviewed for our generous merit scholarships. Admitted students may apply for limited need-based aid. Visit our Financial Aid FAQ for answers to your financial aid questions.
